It’s day four of quarantine and you may be bored out of your mind or worried about what your future sanity may look like, so I thought I would share a few phone apps I’ve been using for the past few years as someone who work in my own remote office daily!
SWEAT APP by Kayla Itsines
It is so important, despite all the couch potato jokes, to get out and get a workout in. Get your body moving, endorphins released, and refuel. It’ll help relive anxiety, stress, and give you a calmness of mind. You got this! It’s also great to do with others in your household, whether it’s a roommate, spouse or offspring!
You may know Kayla as the Bikini Body Guid workout guru, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that, in recent years, she’s extended her fitness platform to include a variety of workouts. Not only does she have a multitude of other fitness gurus that specialize in long and lean body types, power building, and yoga, she also has modifications for her workouts that you can do anywhere (even gym less workouts).
Not only have I seen personal results from BBG for years, I have been recently using the Chontel Duncan workouts on the Sweat App competing in both their New Year’s challenge and weekly workouts. I highly recommend the app as it also gives nutritional advice which I think is equally as important.
Google Hangouts by G-Suite
While we are all at home, we are either trying to continue some sort of normalcy such as working or going to school. There are a variety of platforms out there that allow for conference calling, screen sharing, recording and more. I highly recommend using Google Hangouts if you’re already a G-Suite user with either an @Gmail account or custom G-Suite Account.
It’s also a great time to connect with friends, chat about the silver linings and catch up on stories. It’s really important to stay connected and share stories.
Spotify & Apple Podcasts
Wherever you listen to podcasts at, I highly suggest joining in on the podcast listening movement if you haven’t already. While you get that workout in, I suggest you download great interviews or stories. It’s 100% acceptable and, honestly, I recommend, to unplug from the media at a time like this! Constantly watching the news for updates isn’t going to help your mental health so unplug, listen to the Goal Digger Podcast by Jenna Kutcher, Online Marketing Made Easy by Amy Porterfield, or an industry podcast.
Kajabi App
Kajabi is an online platform for online courses created by course development specialists. Did you know that we have our own Kajabi platform at Western Insights Media through our Digital Ag Academy? You can find our courses on the online courses page of our website! This is a great time to perfect skills that you an apply to your job while working remotely, your passion project, or to arm yourself with more skills when we all “emerge to the living world!”
Duolingo
Why not use this time to learn another language? If you have a child that is out of school, maybe this is your change to give them a head start on learning Spanish, German, or French? I started using Duoloingo a few weeks before the pandemic lockdowns hit and really enjoy the free version as it provides challenges to learn. It’s easy to use and quite-engaging!
Mi español es muy bueno ahora. ;) (Self-proclaimed.)
What apps are you enjoying on your phone or computer during this downtime? I’d love to hear from you!
